Complaintr Docs

Look and behavior

Colors, greeting, how the widget waits before it opens, where it shows, and how it updates.

Everything on this page is on the Appearance tab of the widget settings, and every choice shows up in the preview right away. Click Save changes to apply it to your site. Nothing needs a new script tag.

When the project was created, the widget was already designed from your site: its brand color, its logo, light or dark to match the page, and a greeting that names it.

Home screen

  • Greeting: the title and the short line visitors see first. Keep the default ones to show them in each visitor's language.
  • Announcement banner: an optional card with a title, a short text, and a link. Leave the title empty to hide it.
  • Survey on Home: one of your active surveys, answered inside the widget.

Restore defaults puts the project back on the standard look after a second click.

Before it opens

Open in Complaintr
  1. In the sidebar, open Integrations and choose Website widget.
  2. On the Appearance tab, under Before it opens, choose Button, Card, E-mail, Mascot, Side tab, or Hidden.
  3. For Mascot, pick a character: Koala, Fox, Cat, Bear, Panda, Penguin, Owl, Bunny, or Robot.
  4. Click Save changes.
  • With Hidden, any button or link on the site with the data-complaintr-open attribute opens the widget, and so does ComplaintrWidget.open() in code.
  • E-mail collects addresses, listed under E-mail addresses on the same page with a CSV download.

Choose how the widget waits in the corner before a visitor opens it:

  • Button: a round button.
  • Card: your greeting and a question box. A question typed there opens the conversation with it.
  • E-mail: a card that asks for an email address and stays until the visitor closes it.
  • Mascot: a character peeking over the button, with your greeting beside it: a koala, fox, cat, bear, panda, penguin, owl, bunny, or robot.
  • Side tab: a Help tab on the edge of the screen.
  • Hidden: nothing shows until a visitor clicks a button or link on your site that has the data-complaintr-open attribute.

A visitor who closes the card, the email card, or the mascot's greeting sees the button for the rest of the visit.

Timed popup

Turn on Timed popup to show a short message after a visitor has spent some time with the page in view (3 to 300 seconds). It can:

  • Start a chat: opens a conversation with Core.
  • Ask for e-mail: collects an address for your news and offers.
  • Show a campaign: presents your newest campaign.

Choose how often one visitor sees it: Each visit, Once a day, or Only once. The title, text, and button are optional; empty ones use the widget's own words in the visitor's language.

E-mail addresses

Addresses left in the E-mail card or an Ask for e-mail popup are listed under E-mail addresses on the same page, with Download CSV. Only the project's owner sees them, and the widget accepts an address only while one of these asks for it.

Where and how it shows

Open in Complaintr
  1. In the sidebar, open Integrations and choose Website widget.
  2. On the Appearance tab, under Where and how it shows, choose Every page, Only these pages, or All but these pages, and list the pages one per line (/pricing, /blog/*).
  3. Turn Show on computers and Show on phones on or off, and set Distance from the corner if the widget covers another button.
  4. Choose which tabs and actions the widget offers and its Language, then click Save changes.
  • Pages: every page, only the pages you list, or all but them. Write one per line: a path (/rooms), a section with * (/blog/*), or a full address. The rules follow single-page sites as the address changes.
  • Devices: show it on computers, on phones, or both.
  • Distance from the corner: move the widget in when it covers another button on your site.
  • In the widget: turn the News and Help tabs, and the Report an issue and Request a feature shortcuts, on or off.
  • Language: the visitor's language, or always Turkish or English.

Page and device rules apply only on your site; the preview always shows the widget.
