News, campaigns, and help

Publish news, promote offers, and write help articles that visitors and Core can read.

The Content tab of the widget settings holds what the widget shows in its News and Help tabs. Core reads all of it too, so a visitor who asks about an offer or a policy gets the answer in the conversation. Changes appear on your site without redeploying anything.

When a project is created, Core writes its first news item and a few help articles in your language, built around what your business does. Edit or delete them like anything you wrote.

News

Click Add news and fill in the title, category (News or Changelogs), date, badge, summary, banner color, and content. Each line of the content becomes a paragraph.

Campaigns

Open in Complaintr
  1. In the sidebar, open Integrations and choose Website widget.
  2. On the Content tab, click Add news and set Type to Campaign. Write it yourself, or type a one-line brief under Write it with Core.
  3. Add a Button text and Button link, and optionally an image, Starts and Ends times, and Pin to the top. Click Add news.
  4. On the Appearance tab, under Before it opens, turn on Timed popup. Pick Start a chat, Ask for e-mail, or Show a campaign, the delay, and how often it shows. Click Save changes.
  • A campaign shows only between its Starts and Ends times, and Core mentions only campaigns that are showing.
  • Addresses left in an Ask for e-mail popup are listed under E-mail addresses on the same page, with a CSV download.

Set a news item's Type to Campaign to promote an offer, such as a weekend discount or an early booking deal. A campaign shows as a card on the widget's Home, carries a Campaign label in News, and is what a Show a campaign popup presents.

A campaign can have:

  • Button text and Button link, which opens in a new tab;
  • an Image address, shown in place of the banner color;
  • Starts and Ends times: outside them the campaign is hidden everywhere, and Core does not mention it;
  • Pin to the top, which puts it before the other items.

Links and images must start with https://.

The list shows how many times each item was seen and how often its button was clicked. A view counts once per page load, so treat the numbers as a guide.

Write it with Core

Type a one-line brief, such as 20% off every linen dress this weekend, and click Write. Core fills in the title, summary, content, badge, and button from what the brief says, and never adds a price or date you did not give. Nothing is published until you save. It uses your monthly Core allowance.

Help articles

Click Add article to write a help article for the Help tab. Each one has a title, summary, category, read time, icon, and up to 20 sections. A section has a heading, a body, and an optional code block.

Good help articles answer what customers ask before they buy or book: sizes and fit, check-in, cancellation, delivery times, how to pay. Core answers from them too, so they also make Core better.
