Account and setup

Sign up, walk through the first setup, and get back in when something blocks you.

Sign up with Google, GitHub, email and password, or a passkey.

  • Google and GitHub fill in your name, email, and photo.
  • Email and password needs a password of at least 8 characters. Complaintr emails a verification link, and the account can sign in once the link is opened. If you try earlier, the sign-in page offers Resend verification email.
  • A passkey signs in with your fingerprint, face, or screen lock and needs no password. Enter your name and email and choose Sign up with a passkey. Complaintr emails a link that confirms the address, and opening it creates the passkey and the account.

Forgot your password? Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page and Complaintr emails a reset link.

The first setup

Your first sign-in opens a short setup. Progress is saved as you go, so you can go back, reload, or sign out and finish later.

  1. Who is using Complaintr. Choose Just me or With a team, and your role. With a team, say whether I lead the team or I am joining a team. A leader can name the team and invite people right away. Someone joining skips the project steps: they accept the invitation their leader sent to their address, which appears on this step.
  2. Your website. Enter your site and click Read my site. Complaintr reads its name, icon, description, and colors, and designs the widget from them. Without a website, choose I do not have a website yet and name the project. To change the widget's look now, choose Customize the widget. To skip the project for now, choose Skip, I will add a project later.
  3. Your business. Answer what applies: what you offer, opening hours, delivery or shipping, returns and refunds, payment, prices, how to reach a person, and what else customers often ask. Core answers your customers from these answers. See What Core knows.
  4. Install. Put the widget on your site. The project opens as soon as Complaintr sees it there. Until then, the name is held for you for 72 hours. See Install the widget.
  5. See it working. Once the project is open, send a test from the real widget in the window on the left and watch it arrive.
  6. When it is not a complaint. Choose what Core does when it cannot help a customer: pass the message to you, or keep it with Core. See Needs follow-up.
  7. Everything is set. A summary of what is ready. Enter a plan code if the Complaintr team gave you one, accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and click Open the workspace.

A short welcome follows. Choose Take the tour for a walk through the main pages, or Go to the workspace. The tour is always available from the account menu under Workspace tour.

If you leave before the widget is seen on your site, the workspace opens without a project, and the sidebar leads you back to the install step.
