Slack
File complaints with a mention, and manage your workspace from a Slack DM.
Install Complaintr in your Slack workspace so anyone there can report a problem by mentioning @Complaintr. Link your own account to manage complaints from a direct message.
Install
- Open Integrations, then Slack.
- Click Add to Slack and authorize the Complaintr app in your Slack workspace.
- Click Link my account and send the displayed connect code to Complaintr in a Slack DM.
- Mention @Complaintr in a channel to file a complaint, or send a DM to manage your workspace.
- Complaint creation and status changes require approval with Slack buttons.
If someone else installed the app, ask them for the Slack workspace ID. Enter it under Link an installed workspace to get your own link code.
Link your account
Click Link my account. Complaintr shows a code. Send connect <code> to Complaintr in a Slack DM within 10 minutes. The bot replies when your account is connected.
Report in a channel
Invite Complaintr to the channel and mention it with the application name and the problem:
@Complaintr Acme Store: the checkout button does nothing on the cart page. The bot answers in a thread and asks for anything missing. Follow-up messages in that thread must mention it again. Before filing, it shows Approve and Reject buttons.
Manage from a DM
In a DM with a linked account, ask to list complaints, open one, or change its status. Only your own applications and complaints are available, and every change needs Approve. Unlinked people can still file complaints in a DM.
Disconnect
Unlink removes only your account. Disconnect workspace removes the installation for everyone linked in that Slack workspace.
Test it
Mention the bot in a channel to file a test complaint and look for the Slack source in Complaints. Then, in a DM, ask for your open complaints and approve a status change.
